This policy explains your rights and our obligations when you request deletion of your Snaggle account. It complies with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013), Google Play Store data deletion requirements, and Apple App Store guidelines on account deletion.
As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to request deletion of your personal information under Section 24 of POPIA. You may request deletion at any time, for any reason, without being required to provide a justification.

For security, we will verify your identity before processing a deletion request by confirming your registered email via a verification link or asking you to log into your account to confirm.
Upon successful account deletion, the following personal data is permanently removed:
⚠️ Deletion is permanent and irreversible after the 7-day cancellation window. We cannot restore your account or personal data. Please export any data you need before requesting deletion.
Certain data must be retained due to legal obligations or the rights of third parties. This is permissible under POPIA Section 14.

Where we retain data after deletion, your identity is pseudonymised where technically possible. For legally signed documents like handover sign-offs, your name remains as it appeared on the original signed document.
Snag records you created in a shared project remain for the project's retention period. Your name as the original logger is anonymised to "[Deleted User]" where technically possible.
If you are the sole administrator of a project, you must transfer ownership before requesting deletion. If no transfer is made, the project is suspended for 30 days and all members are notified. After 30 days with no new administrator, the project and all its data are permanently deleted.
Signed handover documents cannot be modified or deleted — they form part of a legally binding record. Your name will remain on these documents as it appeared at the time of signing.
Resident defect submissions through a portal you administered are not affected by your personal account deletion — they remain associated with the organisation's project.

After the 7-day window, deletion cannot be reversed. If you wish to use Snaggle again, you will need to create a new account — your previous data cannot be restored.
Account deletion does not automatically entitle you to a refund of subscription fees paid. Please refer to our Terms of Service for refund terms. Deletion immediately terminates any active subscription and you will lose access to all paid features.
If you are on a team or organisation plan, your individual deletion does not cancel the organisation's subscription. Contact your organisation's administrator for billing matters.
We instruct our data processors to delete your personal information from their systems, subject to their own retention obligations. Please note:
